Drama CLUB

The drama club of this great institution was inaugurated for the past two years. It has made a tremendous achievement and impact in the lives of the students.

Firstly, the club in the first year of establishment acted a drama titled, “The incorruptible Judge”. It was a presentation by the club members. The performance was highly praised by the principal of the school who was a guest of honor in the school end of year activities. She was very impressed with the students’ performance. There was also a dance drama and a folksong for the entertainment of the principal and the parents who attended the end of the activities.


Secondly, the club also went for competition drama and dance drama competition. This competition was organized y a theatre group in Calabar called “The Summer Heritage Production”. It was organized for all the secondary schools in Calabar, cross-river state. This production organization has been in existence in Calabar, for the past ten years. Their aim is to impact knowledge and bring out certain talents from the youths.


The drama club of Auntie Margaret Memorial High School went in for the competition. The school did not only win the best drama and best dance drama for all the secondary school in Calabar, they also carried the crown for the beauty pageant, that is for most beautiful and intelligent girl in Calabar secondary schools. As a result of their high and excellent performance, the school was given the best in all the activities in the competition Peace Ubi-Onen Willian a junior secondary three student (the queen) worn and carried the trophy for the school along with other certificates.


This remarkable performance was highly appreciated by the organizers of the competition. They commented that school worn all the aspect of the competition including the trophy for the beauty queen. And so they were very happy.


The principal, Mrs Jennifer Bassey Duke was overwhelmed with joy for the remarkable performance of her students. She gave much credit to the staff of this club for their encouragement and support to the students and the school as well. As a result of this excellent performance, all the students who participated in the competition and the staff were highly rewarded by the Principal along with Vice-principal, Mrs Grace Edet who was very supportive and encouraging to both the students and the staff of the club.


In conclusion, this great young school by the special grace of God has made a standard and God also will give the school the grace to maintain this standard and to continue to take the school and the club to a higher height in future.


For the year 2008, the club shall be organizing inter-school drama competition. This will come up towards the end of the school year.
