History

Since the inception of Auntie Margaret International School (AMIS) in 1972, the school has laid down unrivaled standards in the area of academic excellence, the recognition of which can be attested to through the numerous awards collected over the years.

Since the premature demise of my mother and founder of AMIS, Late Obonganwan Elder Mrs. Margaret Arit Akpan in 2001, and my voluntary relocation from the United Kingdom to take over the affairs of the school,

I can indubitably claim that since the onset of my tenure, there have been innumerable changes in the establishment, including the introduction of daycare, kindergarten and preparatory services as aforementioned, congestion of classrooms, stringent criteria for staff selection, introduction of computer and music lessons into the curriculum to mention a few.

In 2005, the Auntie Margaret Memorial High School was birthed. it is a 21 Model Secondary School situated in the heart of town, featuring ultra modern facilities and located on the main campus of the school on 44 Ndidem Usang Iso Road which also houses the primary section of the school-Years 1 to 6.
